Hey Grim! I have been reading this thread for awhile and love it!!! Now i was going to go with LED's since i am up for a bulb change but might just change out the bulbs instead. I have one of your favorite fixtures. 72" Aquactinic's Constellation that i am using for a regular 125 frag tank. What bulbs would you recommend for color and also grow out? Here is a recent pic. Hey Grim, I am just about to replace my bulbs. I have a 2 bulb t5 over my 75 with good growth in GSP and zoos. I currently have 1 blue plus and 1 aquablue over it right now. This is what you recommended about 18 months ago, and im very happy with it. Should I go with them again or is there something else you would recommend for more "pop" or color? ( I know Im limited with inly a 2 blub set up) Also if i do the same I was thinking about maybe putting a couple led stunner strips attached to the back side of my fixture for extra light. Would this have any benifit, If so what combo do you think would look best?

If you add some blue LED's I would go with an ATI Blue Plus and Purple Plus.

Hey Grim if I dont add the leds should I go with the aquablue and blue plus again? Also I was wondering how it would look with 2 Aquablues? Would I get more growth? And would the color look about the same as it would with the blue plus?

Thank you Grim!!! Now the though of stripping this fixture and placing 72 Cree LED's have crossed my mind. We will see. But thank you for your prompt response.

I am buying a 6 bulb ATI sunpower from Reefgeek, and placing it on a standard 75. What bulbs should I get? (when I had MH I liked about an 18K look)

-Tank is a Mixed reef/75% sps

Mr. Grim, does this data refer to the older Tek fixtures? By added EXTERNAL fan, do you have any idea how that fan would be applied?

How far from the bulbs would these PAR readings have been taken? If it's not far, I'm thinking I might as well just give up on using my older Tek, added fan or not!

I'll be uupgrading to the new ATI sunpower 8x39 next week and need some help in bulb choices and placements. I currently have a tek elite 6x39 with the following:

-front-
ATI Blue Plus
KZ Fiji Purple
ATI Blue Plus
GE 6500K
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Blue Plus
-back-

Can you recommend me a setup for the ATI? I like my current color but maybe a little more blue would be nice. Also, I'm not sure which slots are dusk/dawn.

I'll be keeping SPS at the top/mid and already have LPS mid to bottom with a mix of mushrooms and zoa's in the lower portion of the tank. Tank depth is 22" with a 2" sandbed. Any recomendations on how far off the water to hand the light? It's currently at 6" from the water right now.

I have a 75 gallon mixed reef tank and just received an 8x54w Sunpower. I intentionally "overbought" on the light fixture and expect to use at most 6 of the bulbs on this tank.

I have the following bulbs available to me - which do you recommend and in which positions?

5x ATI blue plus
2x ATI aquablue special
2x ATI purple plus
1x UVL Ultra Actinic
1x GE 6500

Been so long since I did it I don't remember the distance. As for the fan I placed a 6" clamp on fan on the back of the tank so it blew across the top of the fixture to get the best results. All you want to do is create air movement so the heat is carried away, not blow right on the lamps which hurts the output.
