so then I have to do my own molex connector or 3-pin computer connector mod then... right?

You could either DIY the connector for the fans or do like I always have done. Cut all the conectors off and solder or wire nut all the connections.

good luck

ps. doorbell transformer are for 12vAC. Computer fans run on 12vDC.

This question has probably been posted a few times already but here it goes...
I am replacing my bulbs on a 4*54w Tek retro. What is the best combination of bulbs for the most par along with the best coloration effect. Also what placement from front to back. I am looking to start keeping SPS as well. Thank you in advance!

Acclimation Question

Acclimation Question

I just upgraded from PCs (2x55 actinic and 2x96 10K) to T5 (4x55).

Is the difference in light significant to my softies (particularly zoas)?
I'm running 2 of the lamps for only 4 hours/day and figure to slowly ramp up to 9 hours over the next few weeks.

Super Actinic - 12:00pm - 1:00am
Blue Plus - 12:00pm - 1:00am

Aqua Blue - 1:30pm - 5:30pm
Aqua Blue - 1:30pm - 5:30pm

Is reducing the time enough or should I use screen(s) too?

Thanks for the thoughts,
Jeff

I emailed Tom but they don't have anything like this for a 24".
They do have T5/MH.
There are 6 x 24" fixtures out there, but they don't have individual reflectors like the Tec light... From what I hear this is better...

dastratt - Did you try ReefGeek? They used to carry a 6 x 24" Teklight, but I don't see it anymore. I wonder if it's been discontinued. Might be worth a try contacting them to see if they still have any lying around.

I'm getting ready to get new bulbs and I'm looking for advice to achieve a slightly bluer look. i've currently running 2 aquablue and 2 blue+.

This may be a long shot, but is there any way to continue using 4 bulbs, but get the bluer look without compromising too much PAR?

TIA

Here comes another question for you all. I just purchased a 90gal tank and I want to go with T5HOs. For a 90gal, I was thinking the Tek 54w x 6 fixture or the 54w x 5 fixture from Aquactinic since I do not have a hood. Will 5 or 6 bulbs be enough. I plan on keeping SPS and clams down the line.

In addition, I would like to go with a blue look from the lights, but I want good growth in the corals. What would the best bulb combo be for that.

Thanks for your help.
