The Fiji Purple we are talking about is one of the KZ lamps.

Nice so far. I am ordering some 54 watt lamps to back up the numbers I am getting on the 39 watt lamps.

So Grim I bought the Current USA 2 Bulb T-5 setup, since I'm only keeping shrooms and Low Light corals in this tank, and I had a bulb question. The stock unit comes with a 10k and an actinic bulb, so my question is how long should I use the stock bulbs before replacing them. Also if I do replace them what should I use, and should I use 2 50/50's since there is only one switch anyway? Lastly I would like nice crisp white color, but still have enough blue to really help pull out the florescent color of the corals. Thanks!

Ever hear of a brand of bulb named ARC (HO T5) I have a set of 10K and antinic? Just wondering who makes these.

I'd go 6 months. Try a UVL Super Actinic and a Aquablue when its time to change. Should pop shrooms really nice.

Here's the deal. I am going to post the readings I got but I really am not sure I believe them. It could be that I got a wimpy Aquasun lamp but I don't have enough other 39 watt lamps to to try another known lamp.

UVL Aquasun 554 PAR
KZ Fiji Purple 704
KZ Coral Light 740

The highest PAR I have read to date was the ATI Sun Pro and GE 3000K which were slightly higher than the Aquasun. This is such a jump I am a little skeptical of the results. Damned Good lamps for sure, just not sure if they are THAT good.

Hello all, i notice a few days that 3 of my 6 lamps are getting a 'black' ring on one end.. im like 90% sure it's not the ballast or wiring, it's happening on my UV and GE bulbs. my other 3 lamps which are ATI are perfectly fine... they are all running on 54x2 universal ballasts with IC standoff and endcaps... am i the only one that getting this or is everyone seeing the same thing??

Grim...over a tank would these be purple or a mix of blue and purple?
Do they remind you of a VHO UVL SA? Or not that purple?
Trying to not be too purple with my balance of lamps and wondering how they would mix with blue lamps like Aquablues.

Some people get them and some don't

To me they look sorta like a Phoenix halid, white with a little color to it.

Grim...what is a more 20k lamp then to help balance out the aquasuns and the fiji purples?
