You dont have to. Already did the Sfigoli, can't really see any diference between them and the UVL Super Actinics. I am going to get someone over to look to get a second opinion. Got the KZ's here and will try to fire them up this afternoon.

Looking at getting either a 4 or 6 tube Ati Sunpower for my 36"x 20" x 24" (deep) tank, keeping mostly Goniopora's & Gorgonians.... you think the 6 tube would be over kill??
Also what tubes what you suggest? Any thoughts on the Korallen Zucht Fiji purple tubes?

I'd do 6. Should have an opinion on the fiji purple lamps tonight.
At this point I'd do 3 blue plus, 1 UVL Super Actinic, 1 Aquasun ans 1 Either Aquablue or for a slightly more white look a GE 6500K.

Ok thanks for the quick reply, I should have pointed out I'm in the UK so can't get some of those brands, sorry about that!..... People seem to be raving about the Narva Blue 2 any thoughts????

D&D Gieseman are good if you cant get ATI.Narva makes those lamps so I would assume the Narve Blue 2 is just an Actinic Plus.

I have a Tek 8 lamp and the distance between the fixture and the bottom is 18".My question is, is it possible that the lighting changed the trachyphillia color from light green with a tint of yellow to light yellow with a tint of white after 4-5 months ?
Is a n 8 lamp fixture that strong?
BTW I feed it twice a week.

I have a 4x39 tek unit and one of my ballasts went bad. If it is the same size, can I replace the ballast with the 54w version and overdrive the bulbs? Thanks.

The Tunze lamps are "Osram" brand. Osram makes the ballasts in the Fauna Marin fixtures.

You are hitting them with a ton of actinic and I assume UV to some extent. I would drop back on the lighting to 4 or 6 lamps if possible. Run 1 Actinic and the Midday and fill in with Blue Plus and Aquablue to get a look you like and let that run a while. MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW UP WITH A THREAD IF THIS WORKS. Could be valuable need to know information.

Not sure if a 54 watt ballast will overdrive a 39 watt lamp, I will have to try that.
Tunze is getting lamps from both OSRAM (aka Sylvania which makes ATI) and Narva which makes D&D Giesemann.
The Osram ballasts are made by their Sylvania divison which also makes the Visslow Schwabb ballasts that are in the ATI fixtures.

I need to replace my ballast ASAP and I saw this deal.

Actually OSRAM and Sylvania (SLI â€"œ Sylvania Lighting International) in Europe are totally different companies. Sylvania SLI lamps are different (the T5 lamps are designed differently) from OSRAM and Narva lamps but OSRAM and Narva lamps are very similar. Some of the OSRAM and Narva lamps might actually be the same but relabeled.
