Ready for some NOBALL!!!
Adding the GE in Place of the obviously bad 75/25 should take care of both your issues. You may end up wanting to swap the position of the GE and Aquasun

You probably want the cold spots on the opposite end from the vents. If you pull a lamp you will see a small hole between the reflector and endcap at one end. the air is pulled into the top of the fixture and blows out those holes, runs down the lamps and out the other end. You want the cooler air coming out of those holes hitting the cold spots.
I looked all over and was unable to find it at homedepot or any lighting store. I ended up just ordering on reefgeek and couldnt have been more satisifed with the service and shipping.. comes out to be a little under 20 bucks if I remember rightOriginally posted by Otto2
Will try that out. Thanks Grim. Since GE makes that bulb, can you find it at Home Depot, or is that still a special aquarium bulb.
I see Reef Geek sells them for $13.

Replace the Actinic Plus and Pure Actinic with a ATI Blue Plus
Replace the Aquablue with either a UVL Aquasun, Giesemann Midday or GE 6500K Daylight. Move that lamp up to position 4.

Thanks for the clarification, Grim. Most appreciated...
Question: yesterday while running the lamps with the cold spots on the opposite end of the cooling holes in the Powermodule, the bulbs were brighter and the spectrum of many of the bulbs was differentâ€"overall they were whiter, particularly the Fijis and Blue+s. Do you think was because they were hotter and more "overdriven" with the cool spot not being cooled, and running hotter? What could account for this difference in the spectrum and intensity?

I was thinking retrofit t5s from reef geek. how many and which bulbs for each? 30g being so shallow should i raise the bulbs up a little off the tank or go with 40g breeders? sorry if these have already been asked but there are soooo many post ?

I should get paid period:lol:
You can raise the fixtures a bit if the corals appear to be getting too much

what do you think about # of bulbs for each tank and which bulbs? they're going to be frag tanks so I'm not worried about aesthetics but more about good growth. the reason I mentioned raising it up is because I didn't want stripes of light and no light. thank you

Hit them with full spectrum with lotsa blue
Id do 2 ATI Blue Plus 1 GE 6500K Daylight and 1 UVL Aquasun. The Sun has a little more red and the day more green, both a bit of yellow. Should give you tons of PAR and all the spectrums.

couple of questions i have a 50 gal breeder and i want to go get a new t5 fixture. im looking at either tek or ATI. where can i find the ATI sunpower fixtures and is ATI really worth the wait? my other question is would a 4x39w fixture be sufficient or would i be wise to get the 6x39 up front? does anyone have fixtures from either ATI or TEK ?

I am setting up a 90 gallon (24 tall x 18 deep x 48 long). I want to keep SPS, LPS, clam, zoas, and ricordia (where i can make them happy). Should I go with 8 bulbs in aquatinic reflectors or with 6 bulbs in slr reflectors? I will be using 2 icecap 660's regardless. Reason i dont just go with 6 aquatinics and expand to 8 later is i get a good deal on icecap, but i can alway consider 6 aquatinics.

will it be too much PAR for the 13" high zoa frag tank? what ballast/reflectors do you recomend if i piece this together?
