It will have good PAR and be a little more blue than your current mix.
Thanks Grim.

I have an Outer Orbit Fixture with 2 x 250w Phoenix 14K bulbs and 4 HO t5's. What would you recommend for the best T5 bulbs to add with the Phoenix 14k? Thanks

Trust me, I would really love to have a Constellation fixture, they are very nice, but do not have that kind of money to spend. Do you think the tank would look dim in either the front or back with this fixture?

It wont look dark, there just wont be a lot of intensity fore and aft of the fixture beyond 4 or 5 inches

I'd do 2 UVL 75/25's and 2 super actinics.

Grim,

I am setting up a 75 gallon Reef Ready tank with mostly SPS. I would like to have a nice wood canopy on the tank, but I want to use the 48" 6 bulb tek fixture. Will this fit in the hood, or would something else that is comparable in price be more appropriate. Also, what bulb combo would you reccomend...I like a little more white than blue. Thanks.

I am came across a good deal on a 72" constellation with the 14x39w bulbs but from what i read on the last page it is not going to be enough to keep sps/clams is that correct? Tank dimensions 72x24x24.
Thanks again
Jason

Grim, thanks AGAIN for defining the power usage. Also, in a past thread, I said the IceCap reflectors are now 2 3/4" (told to me by the company rep) but that was incorrect information. The reflectors were and will be held at 3" wide. Jim

I am doing a 5x39 diy and wos wondering about fans.

Do you suggest blowing the length of the bulb or concentrate near the endcaps.

Are there temp controllable fans?

What are the quietest ones?

Sorry that this is not about bulbs. It seems like that is the only type of question asked here. Thought this would be where to ask. If not please move to diy.

Thanks in advance,

Ryan

You don't want to be using a Tek fixture in a canopy. You should use the retrofit kit.

To be ferfectly honest most of the bulb questions could be answered by reading the thread a little or clicking on the red house and reading the info on the website.

As per your question have the fans blow in from the back so it cools the endcaps and lamp ends. There are temp controlled fans but in my opinion they are a waste of money.

It should be fine on that tank. Just keep in close to the top of the tank as possible.

Hey Grim,

How many T5 HO 24w bulbs do I need over my twenty nine gallon (18inches deep) tank to do SPS and maybe a clam?

-Fishboy

What T-5 fixture would you recommend for my 180g? I want to be able to keep any type of SPS, Clams, etc. 72"x24"x24" Is the Tank size. Also, it would be nice if I could keep them anywhere in the tank.

I have a 40 gallon that i am setting up should i use a 4 bulb or 6 bulb retro kit? tank Dims are 36"x 16"x16"
