It was a 39 watt TX5, not 54. The Aquactinics has active cooling and better reflectors.

have you tested the AquaScience bulbs recently, how do they compare to the ATI bulbs?

I did some searching and saw some older posts, 2006/7/8, but wonder if anything has changed since.

so basically no matter which of the bulbs he has, they will be sufficient enough for growth and health? we tried swapping out the aquasun for the blue plus and he wasnt too happy with the more blue look, lol. he just wants to make sure his clams are getting what they need.

how well does the actinic white do for the clams in comparison to the aqua sun and GE 6500k? what color spectrum do clams favor most? thanks grim

Sorry if this has been answered before I tried to look for a 8lamp config that is around a crisp white/blue look that is around 14/15k MH bulb like that of the phoenix. What lamps and placement should I use

Grim,
Need your help. Tank setup 72x18x24 3in sand bed, 4x110 48in VHO lighting, mostly softies, polyps, zoo's, would like to move up to T5 lighting and start adding LPS, clams and few SPS. Looking at ATI 6x80 60in, 8x80 60in and constellation 72in. 8 bulbs may be to wide, the inside top of the tank is only 16.5 with the lip. Bulbs setup also is needed. thanks

Well I decided against the 10 Bulb ATI PM and went with the new fauna Marin Starfire 10 bulb set up. It will be completely dimmable w/ my Profilux controller (which is why I went with it) Can not wait for it

T5 for a clam

I have a 8 bulb T5 fixture on a 110 gallon tank. I figured I had 4 watts per gallon. I am wondering if this is sufficient for a clam?

Hey grim, just wondering if you had heard anything about the new tek light coming out. Ive been putting off my light replacement for some time now and was thinking I would go with retro, but now am thinking I will want a fixture. I like the ATI pm and the constellation and am just wondering where this new tek will fit in b/c I hear it will be cheaper.

All the critters seem to do well with blue/green light but use it all. He will have planty of light

Actinic White will be a little less than the Aquasun and Blue Plus.
