So sorry!!

The "super blue" is actually a "blue plus".

So that would be...

front-
Blue plus
Aqua Blue
Super Actinic
75/25
Aqua Blue
Blue plus
-back

Try this

Front
Blue Plus
Actinic
Aquablue
Fiji Purple
Blue Plus
GE
Blue Plus
Actinic
Blue Plus
Aquablue

This will do a couple things for you.

#1 is you get an ectinic and Blue Plus for duck/dawn, looks really cool.

#2 It moves the Fiji Purple forward so its light hits the viewing side of the corals more.

#3 It spreads your blue plamps out more so that spectrum is more evenly distributed.

Thank you very much Grim!

What about the other questions?

-> I need to know if there is any suggestions for the position of the ends (the way to attach the bulbs in fixture). Does it matter, like some metal halides?

-> How far from water surface should I place the fixture?

-> What about the fan speed? How can I know the best set for that?

Thanks again.

The lamps mount to the endcaps. They are mounted in the canopy by standoffs you install. The endcaps snap into those.

4~6" above the water.

Just run the fans full speed blowing down the row of endcaps on each side from the rear. Without a light meter there is no way to guess the perfect speed or even size of fan.

I posted this question in another thread, but it looks like this is the one I should have posted it in.

I am doing a 50g Tall (36 x 17 x 18) mixed reef. I have a few of everything. I want good color and healthy animals.

I am going with the ATI fixture. Should I do the Powermodule or the Sunpower? I cant find anything concrete about differences.

Doing the 4x39w. What bulb combo should I do? Thank you ahead of time the info!

Sunpower will work fine but get whichever one you like best. If the Powermodule just mount it higher up

For lamps try
Front
ATI Blue Plus
UVL Actinic White
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Blue Plus.

You could substitue the rear Blue Plus for an ATI Aquablue if you want a more white look.

My aquarium is still in the planning phase for now, I just purchased the TEK 48" 54 Watt 8 Lamp System with mounting legs etc... I am looking for some bulbs compatible with this system that provides a great combo for my coral, clams and fish.

What combination of lights would be best? Any suggestions would definitely help. So I can start this tank up to prepare for my new incoming family of coral..........

I was thinking of going half and half.

I am open for suggestions...... :D

Thanks for the quick response! So you dont think the new ATI Pro Color Bulb or the ATI Atinic is worth using? I like the tank to be a little more blue than a Hamilton 14k 250w SE mh :)

Oh, also, to clarify...

The Powermodule has bettwer reflectors or more power? I wouldnt mind having the light off the water a bit, I like to look down, and the price differemce is only about $70. How close does the Sunpower have to be to be as effective as the powermodule?

The Actinic white will add red like the pro color but have more PAR and some Actinic kick. Grab an ATI Aquablue as a spare lamp and in cease you think the 3 Blue Plus makes things too blue. You could slip the Aquablue in the rear and brighten things up nice.

Not a lot of difference in performance but the Powermodule is a really stout fixture. It is made of stainless steel and should survive a nuclear war. The reflectors are likely a bit more precise and the cooling slightly more effective.

Hi Grim!
For LPS and softies, would the following 4 X 54w work well? Interested in growth more than looks.
1 ATI Aquablue
1 UVL Aquasun
1 ATI Blue Plus
1 UVL 75/25

For growth you could go 3 Blue Plus and the Aquasun and get looks and growth.

Thinking of going with T-5 on the new 210. Thinking 8x54 Tek Retro, bulbs staggered. What would this lighting be good to keep in the standard 210 with a 3" SB?

I personally would do more than that. I have 8 60"ers on my 180, and while the PAR is good the bottom edges of the tank is only sporting say 193uMol/m2/sec on the left and 160ish uMols/m2/sec on the right. I would honestly do as much if not MORE light than I have on mine if you are looking for good PAR values thoughout the tank.

Just as a reference I have about 460uMols about halfway down the 24 inch tank. Which is enough to grow most SPS well.

WI huh? Where you located?
