The Time Is Finally Here...

That was a nice pickup. We'll see how this class sorts out. I'm guessing a couple more of 3 stars will become 4's and if we can add some more 4's and maybe a 5 or 2 I think we'll be OK. Of course the linemen aren't typically rated high like the backs and recievers and we have some decent lineman commited..and that's what we really need.

:D That was a blast. We had great seats, lower level, 45 yard line. I've got a mad sun burn on half my face.

Even factoring out the defensive points, TN still owned Ole Miss.

We got lucky twice again on punts. It seems that Gordon and Jackson can only catch balls on defense in the secondary. Man, forget a punt RETURNER. I'd settle for a punt CATCHER. Just put stocker out there and fair catch everything or don't touch it... and just cut our losses in special teams. Don't we have a special teams coach now?!?

If we had a quarterback, receiving core, special teams, and a defense, you guys would have been sorry;).

Not sure how long you beat a dead horse, but Masoli should have been pulled about 5 games ago, IMO... I've not been watching the same games the commentator's have (all they normally do is rant and rave about how accurate he is, etc.). Not that Stanley has much more, but at least he'll be there next year. Stanley had 3 TD's in the first half of the game against Jacksonville State. Masoli comes in and we lose...

Gary, Masoli looked accurate to me; hit our cornerbacks right in the numbers three times! :wavehand:

Seriously though, I thought maybe the concussion put him off his game, but I haven't seen him play much this year. Maybe it's par for the course based on your comments.

Well I sure was glad Masoli could "give it a go" today:)

I just want to write a lot in this thread all of a sudden for some reason;)

He's not been throwing as many interceptions, but he loves to throw into triple coverage. He has a lot of similarities with Snead. Snead had an arm and could throw some laser rockets in there (sorry Peyton;)), as can Masoli. Both can/could run the ball and cause major issues with the defense. When Masoli has a designed keeper, he usually gets 10 or so yards. However, he starts every play 15 yards deep in his backfield (except designed keepers). He has to run 50 yards to get back to the line of scrimmage. Then, he'll just make bad decisions a quarterback as highly touted as he was shouldn't make. In two consecutive plays against Auburn, he proved my point. 2nd and 3. Has a receiver 10 yards down field directly in front of him with no defenders in the shot (10-15 yards min). He throws into triple coverage. No catch. Next play (3rd and 3), he stays in the pocket, can't find anyone open, but has no pressure. He could have stepped forward and gotten 10 yards, but threw to someone on the sidelines. I know I've got a birdseye view but... He tends to zing in lasers when he needs a soft touch and float what should be zingers. His receivers don't help him much, either, but he has a lot of his own problems. Snead would throw 4 INT's a game and 2 would be from receivers tipping the ball into the defenders hands... Masoli has looked the same, but hasn't had the number of interceptions (in most games). I've seen a handful of nice drives this year, but if they aren't just really on, it ain't happening (and being 'really on' has been in short supply this year).

We've still got LSU and MSU and need wins at both to be bowl eligible. It is the SEC and I'll be hoping for an upset (Miles gave us one last year, like he almost gave one to UT this year-exact same situation), but this year has not shown many promising moments for the Rebels...

No kidding. It didn't need to be that close, we could have ran away with the game when we up 10+ late but let them go on that long run to bring it within 1.

Is it just me, or has Brian "Gentle Giant" not lived up to expectations on offense? He's the biggest guy on the floor every game, but gets outmuscled by much smaller guys. He should be dunking over people but instead he turns his back, dribbles, and turns it over or airballs. We don't need a 6'10" 280lb. pacifist who only rebounds and makes friends.

Tobias Harris is something special though. He'll be our best player for the year or two he'll stick around before going to the bank.

ANOTHER muffed punt, turned over at our 21.... Really?!?

Jokingly, Dooley said that our best strategy on returning punts was to have no one back there. That seems like a good idea...

We did that at one point tonight:lol:

NO win over Vanderbilt is a bad win:)

Lots of film this week to study...hopefully that will wake a few people up.

Williams has some fire tonight. If we can win this and beat Hicktucky tomorrow in FB, it will be quite a week, especially how big blue got dismantled by UConn in HI in BB.... go vols!
