I just got gone feeding my clowns, so my btashifted to eat some mysis it had caught. thats when i noticed that one of its tenicles looked awfully strange.

I watched a little closer, and its filled with.. somthing! It appears to be a ball of fine gravel!

my female clown is constantly digging right under the nem, and has moved all the crushed coral away leaving fine sand.

It looks to be expelling its waste tonight. bet thats gonna hurt.

just wonder how it got there!

yep. hey anyone here that had one spawn.. could you see its eggs? just another thought. I dont think they'll be there tomorrow. def. interesting

I have that exact same looking thing in my GBTA. Mine has actually spawned, but I really don't think that has anything to do with it. That object was in there both well before and after it spawned. If it's the same thing, it's almost a flourescent yellow-orange color. I've actually considered cutting it out, but I'm really not sure what it is. It seems to appear in different tentacles, but it's hard to tell that for sure.

I've seen air bubbles and eggs/developing anemones in BTA tentacles, but that there does not look like either.

I would suspect something made it through the oral cavity at some point and into the tentacle. Doubt it will harm anything if it is inert and not a parasite of some sort.

Can always tank a sharp pair of scissors and quickly trim that tentacle off....it will grow back :)

well i cant seem to find it today, and it did shrink up lastnight, so im thinking it spit it out. theres one tenicle that looks like it has 1 piece of sand in it, and thats it.

One the other hand, i did get to witness the finishing of some tenicles splitting. i had a 3 way split tenicle that was still connected at the tip. they finally finished splitting today :)

and.. my silly maroon has finally reached the glass bottom... she shifted a good 5 inches of c.coral and sand... wonder where she'll clean now lol

and to rthink.. the female maroon was to BIG for this anemone when i got it in march :D
