The wall must come down

Emmett: I was originally going to go with just 2 400w aquaconnect 14k's using the 22"x22" Lumenmax reflectors. But with getting the tank specs yesterday i am going to switch to running 3 250w aquaconnects with the new Lumen Max Elite 17.5"x14.5" reflectors, because of the cross bracing. They are completely micro dimpled and should give very good light spread. I saw the 400w aquacommect on Triggerfish's tank and i liked the color that it had with the actinics off. I do not plan to run actinics. Do they make the Phoenix 14k in a single ended bulb? I was running 2 150w hqi phoenix 14k on the 72g and really like the color without actinics.

Do you have a link for that lumenmax elite reflector I would like to check that out. Yes I think the 3 250w halides would be better for that tank. The phoenix only comes in double ended so thats one of the draw backs of that bulb (not many to switch too if you want to change down the road). The 400w aquaconnect could possibly be bluer then the 250w version so just make sure before you purchase, my 250w aquaconnects are to white for my tastes but thats just me.

Thanks Matt.

If it stops raining long enough i am going to go get the wood for the stand and start building it this evening.

The Aqua Connect is basically the single ended version of the Phoenix. Both are made by the same company.

Well they are very different looking to my eyes.

Let the fun begin.

I cant wait to see it done myself.

Hopefully in the next couple days i will actually get to start the wall tear out.

I was checking out one of those 250 Marineland tanks at a LFS over here last weekend. I really like those tanks! The extra depth on that thing is gonna make for a stunning reef setup IMO.

I got all the studs cut out of the wall and most of the electrical moved. Still need to run my 2 new lines for lights and pumps. After that i will be squaring up the opening and closing everyhting up.
