For all those that have procrastinated or had some excuse for not signing up already, the WMC2006 is only 3 weeks away!

For those that don't know what I am talking about - check out the link - www.wmc2006.org - and you will see that the finest reef conference this side of the Mississippi is being held in Sacramento on April 21 - 23. We have 12 of the finest speakers from across the United States in attendance. If you want to hear, Eric Borneman, Anthony Calfo, David Cripe, Bob Fenner, Sanjay Joshi, Scott Michaels, Mike Paletta, Adelaide Rhodes, Steve Robinson, Walt Smith, Leng Sy, and Rob Toones, and rub elbows with them, then you need to attend.

The giant raffle will tentatively have a 130 G. tank with stand, smaller tanks, light fixtures, skimmers, pumps, plus lots of dry goods. We also have over 50 coral colonies that will be raffled.

The final day to register online is April 15. Please if you are planning on coming, please register so we can get a count for the t-shirts and the banquet. You must signup for the banquet by April 15.

I hope everyone didn't spend too much at Yourreef this weekend and still plan to register for the conference soon. The raffle prizes are only for those who have registered and paid for the conference. Register now if you haven't!

With an update on the raffle - Mermaid has donated a 130 G. tank with a gorgeous cherry stand and canopy - you can only win if you are coming to the WMC and buy raffle tickets.

Carib-Sea is donating a pallate's worth of goodies like live sand and additives.

PE Mysis is donating $3K worth of food for all you finiky eaters.

TruVu has donated an 25 galon acrylic stand and tank system complete with the true wet/dry built into the back.

Pacific Garden Supply is donating their ENTIRE booth display with their new models of Luminarc DE and Mini A/C fixtures just so they won't have to take it home with them.

CPR is donating skimmers and refugiums.

Reef Nutrition is donating Pods, Macro, Phyto, Roti, and bags to put your WMC schwag in.

Island Marine Tropicals is donating $1K worth of mini colonys.

Coral Reef Eco Systems is kicking in MH bulbs.

Tropical Reef Oasis is donating some sa-weeet rare and limited edition frags.

These are just the things I can recall off the top of my head. Max also wants to sell the Zero-Edge tank he's having built at the end of the conference so he won't have to cart it home. There's going to be some super deals on livestock and drygoods so if you're thinking $130 is too much cash for a conference of this magnitude, then you probably won't want to win all this cool stuff either.

I'm sorry to the rest of you, but I've already promissed myself I'm going to win the tank...lol.

Pam, Rich, anyone who knows: How much are raffel tickets going to be...and is the raffel only going to take place Sat. night, or is stuff going to be raffeled all day long?

We liked the way BAR did their last swap with the white board, so we're thinking of going that route. We'll write down the # so you don't have to be there to win. Of course, if you're not there (at the WMC), you can't win, and if you leave early, I get to keep all of the unclaimed raffle prizes :D

Probably a buck each, and you can put the tickets in the box for the prizes you like best. The tank (Super-All-Time-Grand-Prize) will be seperate, and we haven't determined the price for those tix (or have we?)

Conference tickets are $130 as of the last club meeting in March. Sign up before the 14th if you want the dinners ($35 addtl.) and the super pimp WMC T-shirt featuring Jeni's clown picture (the big logo in the second post above) on the front pocket area and all the Sponsors and Exhibitors on the back!

What if I want the shirt, but don't want the dinner (is it buffet?)...you know the elephant bar is right there and so is Hooters now (drool)...can I buy one seperate.

David, I checked the registration page, and it doesn't look like you listed a size. All registrations (before 4/7) come with a t-shirt. We'll have some extras at the show, but you might want to let James (Photon) know about the t-shirt size. If you register lafte the 7th, you might have to buy one at the show.

Again, you can't just show up to the conference and expect to purchase raffle tickets.

You must be registered and have paid to attend the full conference in order to participate in the raffle. If you haven't registered yet, do so as soon as you can.

Rich, I thought it was decided on $5/ticket for the Tank Grand Prize setups...unless it's been changed since the last meeting.

David,

The dinner buffet is not included in the cost of the registration. The cost of the dinner buffet is an additional $35. The advantage of staying for dinner is you get to socialize with the other attendees and vendors. The menu looked pretty good.

Both Elepant Bar & Hooters can get pretty crowded and busy on weekends.

I'm sorry to the rest of you, but I've already promissed myself I'm going to win the tank...lol

I can confirm that. David has won the 25 gallon tank. The 130G already has my name on it.

I How much are raffel tickets going to be...and is the raffel only going to take place Sat. night, or is stuff going to be raffeled all day long?

This is all tenative, but the plan is: There are two ticket pricing. $1 per ticket for most of the raffle prizes. The larger item (such as the 130G) will be $5. As Rich said - the raffle is a combination of what both MARS and BAR has done at the frag swap. There will be boxes for softies/LPS, SPS, Dry Good, and Tanks (25G and 130g). You drop as many tickets as you want into each tank. We will pull the numbers, and indicate what prize each person has won. However, for the large prize, we may do a live drawing (need suspense added to the conference) after Saturday night's speaker. Wait - please see above. Dave and I have already won the tank. ;-) you don't want SPS - then don't drop any tickets into the SPS box. Like I said - this is tenative, and the final price and procedure will be announced at the conference.

Sorry Dave - they only come in pairs..... *doh* you were taking about wet t-shirts errr... I meant WMC t-shirt.
I *think* that a few extra t-shirts will be ordered. However, you should get on for pre-registering.

James or I will be sending out emails to people who did not specify a t-shirt size. If you did not specify a t-shirt size, you will get whatever is leftover (probably a large).

I registered on March 30th but wasn't able to specify shirt size on the site. You may want to look-in on that. I just thought I was too late to get a shirt, but I'll pm James about it.
