I saw a coral on ebay listed as 'Japanese Acan Maxima' yesterday. To me it looks like a lobo and not an acan, but thats a different subject.
Anyways, when I questioned the vendor, not only about it not being an acan, but about the fact that acan maxima isn't even found anywhere NEAR Japan, here is the response I got regarding the description:
"Japanese is a term used in the hobby for describing high end Trachophyllia and Acan due to the prices the Japanese hobbyeist pay for them. It's not a description of geography where they come from."
Is this really a trend I am not aware of?
