thebanker's Fluval Edge Reef

I didnt notice that was an L shaped pico, this is sick! Once you get some higher kelvin bulbs its gunna look knarly!

I bought a 10 watt 50/50 Aqueon bulb and zip tied it to the light bar. It's hard to capture the difference it makes, but it helps. The black interior of the hood seems to absorb all the light. I'll need to fabricate a reflector.

After installing the light.

It's still too yellow for me. The halogens create narrow spotlighting and their ~2700K color temperature washes out everything.

Going to take some more pictures.

Looks like an L to me...

PM me your shipping info. I have a pair of MR11 Cool White LEDs that are brighter and whiter than the stock halogens. Didn't end up needing them so they are all yours if you want them. Just cover them in some clear nail polish, clearcoat, or LED seal so salt creep doesn't get them.

Really? Awesome, will do! Wow thanks!

Awesome! That is very generous of you, I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate it.

What is the best way to seal the LEDs? Clear nail polish I can do easily, what's LED seal?

ReefLEDlights sells it. It's just clearcoat I think. Clear nail polish worked fine on mine for the 6 months I had it.

Couldn't get them shipped out today (damn clients....kidding), they will go out tomorrow for sure though.

Shaddup!! It's my girlfriend's... I swear...

What's the best way to coat the LED "parts" with clear nail polish? Do you just paint the entire exposed circuitboard, including the LEDs?

Yeah that is what I meant: your gf/f/w's nail polish.

Just grab it when she and Les are talking food on the phone next time.

What did you think I meant?

Snickerol.

If she and Les were talking about food on the phone I'd crap myself. Sorry it took a few minutes to respond, my nails are still drying. :lolspin:
