I had looked into starting a LFS at the old "Their World" building in Perry awhile back but decided against it. Joe the owner called me this afternoon and told me he is parting out everything. He has some good stuff. Here is what he told me over the phone that he has for sale:

- "2" 125gal. tanks drilled with corner overflow. $250 each.

- "2" 180gal. tanks drilled with corner overflow. $400 each.

- "2" 100 gal. tanks. $400 each.

- "2" 220gal. tanks $400 each.

- 385 gal. drilled tank with stand, canopy, lights etc. $3500

- 360gal. "W" shaped tank with stand and canopy. $3500.

- 75 gal. tanks - $75 each.

- 55 gal. tanks - $65 each.

Possibly selling (2) 300 gal. tanks drilled in the back glass.

- "7" 8 foot long acrylic tanks that are 16" tall - would make great frag tanks!!!!

- assorted, skimmers, wet/dry filters, lighting etc. etc.

Open 4-8 weekdays and 12-6 weekends. Call Joe at 440-487-2588 for details.

I'm in Amherst...Anyone want to take a ride out to take a look this week? I'm teacher and have spring break right now, so let me know...pm me

Most of the stuff came from a defunct store in Willoughby that closed a few years back after the owner got ill, think it was called Coral Connection?? I was at Their World a few years ago and the tanks were in good shape then, but the store never really took off and if I am correct has been closed for some time

I wondered what happen to the Coral Connection guy off of Lost Nation. He was ok.

I was never in Coral Connection but had heard good things from East Siders about him, I would say from the list of equipment shown most came from Coral Connection and actually never got set up in the store, my visit there was wierd, Joe was trying to set the stuff up, but he was way into exotic snakes and actually showed me a 300g+ tank with an Anaconda in it, The store has potential for the right owner, great location, nice building, in it's day before Joe bought it, it had the look of an African hut from the outside and planked flooring inside, with that african feel also, it is a shame 2 owners could not do something with it

I would like to take a ride out there, may go on either tues (tomorrow) or friday if anyone wants to ride along.

Did he happen to mention if these are new tanks or are they store displays?

Uhh Oh....Jeff is thinking of nixxing the pond and buying a fleet of 300 class tanks.

The sign outside with the hours has been there for at least 6 mos. and work has taken me past there during those times and no one is there, and not getting a response on the phone hmmm...????

There are all kinds of filtration equip. available. Skimmers, filters, wet-drys you name it. Also...many smaller tanks available. Also has the multi-tank display there. Some of the tanks did hold crocodiles or other reptiles but they seemed to be in good shape. The store is located on Rt. 20 in Perry, OH.

Joe works during the day so try your calls in the afternoon/evenings.

LOL! Your read my mind Mike!

Actually, I had dealt with Joe on snakes before. Really nice guy with a lot of good ideas. However, none of those cages were large enough to house the sized snakes he had. Did he show you the croc pit in the basement? He had Nile Crocodiles down there!

BTW, Their World used to be Kinkades under former mgmt.

When it was in business, Coral Connection was our favorite marine pet shop and we made the trip from the west side many times. One of the tanks was set up so that for a while it sucessfully collected newly free swimming Banggai cardinalfish into a refugium/sump under the tank.

HELLO CORAL RULES. I talked to JOE on WENSDAY. He is a good GUY and he. Will return your calls if you leave a message.

Another pet shop closing doors..... Exotic in Brunswick (NOT Hector's place). About all they have left interesting is tanks. They bought the acrylic systems from RMS Strongsville after they became Strongsville Pet Emporium and went out of business. Bump up the lighting and it would make a fantastic frag factory.

Most every business on that strip, not just the pet shop, suffered when the sports bar opened next to RMS Strongsville. You could barely find a parking space after the bar opened, and if you did, you had to dodge the drunk drivers to make it on foot across the parking lot.:eek1: I went by one bar customer's house the next day, and saw his front door had been kicked in. I called the police thinking a burglary might be in progress, but he was inside sleeping and told the officers who responded that after he drove home from the bar, he was too drunk to get his house key into the keyhole and so had kicked in his own door.

FWIW, The guy who owned Coral Connection when it closed, Earl, is still around and runs an aquarium maintenance business with the same name. He bought the shop from Dave, who had started it years before with Kurt. Dave is actually considering doing a new shop in the next year, something along the same lines as CC, small strictly saltwater, on the east side. I'll keep you posted.
Also, "all" of the contents of the old Coral Connection were sold for $2000 about 5 years ago, including all the above mentioned tanks, most of which were built in 1999, so Joe may have left some negotiating room on the prices.

Exotic's last day was today. It was a mess when I was by yesterday so I did not check it out today. They had many of the old RMS Strongsville tanks outside, and others stacked inside. They are like the long 40 breeders but with two to four compartments in each one.
