yep the larger ones are Isopods(the good kind) and the tiny ones are copepods. oh and thing in the corner of the first pic with a shell is a snail posibly a nassuarus snail :D

Im pretty sure that is NOT a nassarius snail. Very similar. I have them in my tank, they have a darker shell and dont burrow into the sand. Ive also been told that they kill nassarius snails.

I have about 70 of those snails, they do go down into the sand from time to time, whatever kind they are.

I believe what XtrmCHoPZ is referring to is a whelk.
Doesnt look like one to me. As far as I understand they usually have much more textured/spiky shells.

a Whelk will also have a leopard type print on his snout where as a Nass. snail will be mostly solid white in color.

So if you see that snail has a leopard print get him out. and then keep searching for more!

whelk is bad? how come?

well I have like 70+ of these snails in the tank, all the same kind.. been in there for a couple months now, tank is about 3 months old or so I would guess now.

some Whelks are preditory. they will munch on clams, and some will kill other snails. what you have is a Whelk as are Nassarius vibex. but they are not preditory Whelks and are ruled safe. however the Ilyanassa obsoleta are from colder waters, and dont live as long in a typical Reef tank as they would in nature.
