There was a thread asking the question " If a BTA loses it bubbles do they every come back?"

These are two different pics of the same RBTA about a month apart, the only difference is the RBTA is now in a different tank, and it no longer host a clownfish.

I have never been able to figure out what makes them change the shape of their tips, there is alot of variables, but nothing consistant.

Nobody knows exactly why they change tentacles, but what caused it this time was changing the tanks. Most of my BTA are bubbled when I buy them, but they go straight-tentacled after a day or so. Keep in mind it may be due to temporary stress of changing tanks, so I wouldn't be surprised if it went back to being straight-tentacled again. Hopefully it will stay bubbled forever, but sometimes it just doesn't work out the way we want it too. I've always wanted a bubbled BTA, but I don't think I'll ever get one... until a few months down the road when I get a 28g w/ 150w MH-HQI! :D
