Thicker rubber spacer for 3/4" tanks

I recently switched my Vortechs to Lagoon mode, which predictably, has caused the outside part to heat up a little more, since they run at top speed for a longer period.

I checked the outside of the tank, under the rubber spacer and the tank is a bit warmer under the pump. It's nothing I'm concerned about at this point, but it would be nice to have a thicker spacer to separate the outside piece from the tank.

Has Echotech looked at adding a thicker rubber spacer for 3/4" tanks?

Thanks

Mike

Sorry, I should be more clear. I'm not talking about the Pin spacer. There is a thin rubber gasket/spacer that still goes on the tank, even with 3/4" tanks.

I would really like to see that a little thicker, if possible, to help reduce any amount of heat getting to the tank. Another option, would be a fan/vent cover for the outside to more effectively pull the heat away from the tank.

Unfortunately, a thicker rubber spacer would position the pump further out from the tank which would affect the magnet intensity.

That's what I though. Perhaps over a bit of time, the magnets can be improved, or some sort of small fan could be used draw the heat away. Of course, adding a fan means adding noise and I'm not so sure that would better.

Anyway, as I said, I'm not concerned about the heat at this point, it's only slightly warmer than any area without the pump.

What you fill find happening is the center of the gasket begins to melt as the magnet rubs against it, which in turn causes the pump to run hotter......simply cut out a 1" diameter hole in the center and you will see the pump immediately running much cooler. LMK if that works.

The gasket still keeps the magnet away from the acrylic.....I had to do this on a big tank myself and they have been running for about 10 months.
