As the title says... Is there anything I should know about Dracula Goby's? I would like some company with my 2 occs. Only a 24 Gal. so I probably wont get any more fish after the goby, besides corals and... maybe a nem at some point.

Get him a Candy Cane pistol (A. randalli) to partner with and make sure the tank is covered. These gobies are prone to jumping especially when first added to a new system.

There are very similar gobies in appearance to the Dracula goby that are A LOT CHEAPER.

24gal tank is very much ok for a BTA

The red-stripe high-fin gobies (stonogobiops nematodes) are very good in small tanks. They're shy, but if they feel safe, they'll be out and about. They look very similar and are pretty hardy.

Alright, so there are almost exact look-alikes out there. Sk8r's option even looks cooler in some ways... So that leads me to my next question. Why get a Dracula Goby at all? What is the difference and allure, that would make one almost 90 - 100 bucks more expensive than the other... Unless they poo Chalice Corals?

+1

Pistols will share their home with them and it is pretty fun to watch.

I thought they got up to 12" across. Wouldn't it need more room around it?

They will eventually if you feed them too much. If you just let them naturally catch what is in the water column they won't grow too fast, but if you want a small one to grow to a certain size yes feed them every 2 or 3 days. If you over feed them they might split.

Lighting alone is all they need and they will grow with just light but not as quickly. Don't seem many 12" bta's most are around 6 ish.

Hey look on the bright side if it did get to 12" it wouldn't be able to go walkabout anymore :D
