Well, I guess my order for some Berghia fell through and I am not sure I can wait for pimpinitup to breed them for me. So I am probably going to buy some.

Is anyone interested in going in? Looks like they will be about $15 each.

if your going to order some pm me and i can set you up with the same person i got mine from! they are $8 but the shipping is 50

she didnt have enough at the time of the order but you could contact her and she could ship them when the next bunch is ready!

Geo,
I can't see that site here at work...do you know how much they are from Berghia.net?

I was looking at SaltyUnderground.com and they are $15/ea plus shipping...would be great if someone wants to share the shipping cost.

FWIW....I'm still a big fan of the copperband butterfly for this issue...however you need to make sure it is from Papua New Guinea, Australia, any place but Indonesian. The Indo's tend not acclimate well and are no where near the pest eaters. For the record mine has been in my tank for over a year and will absolutely devastate any Aptasia it finds. Now my tank has been clean for a long time, I however have plenty in my sump and frag tank, of which I feed to my cooperband almost daily. He will also eat any frozen foods and just recently will accept X-tream flakes.

Hope this helps.

I have a problem with the peppermints...I think they will be a snack for my blue jaw. Tried one and it was gone almost immediately. Maybe, I could try a few again...but I have also heard they will not touch mature Aptasia...and mine are all varieties (big and small)...getting bigger every day...ugh!

Thought about the copperband, but haven't been able to find one locally and I am not sure I want to buy on online. Not to mention I am not sure my water quality is where it needs to be for a butterfly. Are the copperbands more hearty than other varieties?

Peppermints have worked for me on 3 separate occasions. Buy a group of 5 or more...
Order from a reputable source so that (hopefully) you get peppermints and not other look-alike shrimp.
Feed less so that they are hungry enough to eat the aptasia.

frankandmaura if you have a blue jaw it would probably be a good idea to move him to another tank before introducing the berghias. i watched a couple get destroyed by a blue throat while my step dad was adding his
