Just had a major set back because of the thread I read :( just fixed my baffles 2 days ago as I broke them in the process. Used ge window and door it never said #1 or #2 just stated it had to be 100% silicone. Well im sitting here all cut up trying to cut my baffles and silicone off and just to stressed thinking I have to dump 200 some gallons of fresh salt water out and start over :( ughhhhh fml

Oh no! It's only a set back, though the challenge is worth an FML for sure. I wouldn't get out if I were you. Maybe give yourself a break for the summer and use the time to get everything set to start back up in the fall. ;)

Did you confirm this is not reef safe?

If so crank up the carbon and change as much water as fast as you can. Hang in there!

I used the wrong stuff as well once... at least you realized it now and not after you added all your fish n corals... I even started a thread about it

Take a step back and you will be fine.
From time 2 time we all want to give up and wind up getting back in.
By the way like your wall paper,

From all your previous threads we can see the passion you have for the hobby. Have a stiff drink and hang in there. It too will pass.

So, what did you use?? I used GE Silicone #1, several times, with no ill effects. I was told to just make sure it fully cured and I would be good. Which I did and I haven't lost any fish or coral. I did this well over 1yr ago, so if something was going to die I think it would have been now.

Just hang in there and pour yourself a nice drink, like I just did. :D

I have used one and II you just need to check the ingredients very closely as long as you dont see anti mold and mildew you may be ok

I got ge #2 window door basement attic 100% silicon i noticed foamy stuff in the tank and didn't know where it was coming from and figured besides salt and calcium that's all I had added then I remembered the silicon ( searched for my brand and it states its toxic due to the mold protection :(
