Ok, well im setting up a 90g. and ill probably have a 55g. sump/fuge but for conversation lets say a 30g. sump/fuge...
Do you think i could house a Mandrin in this tank??? (that doesnt eat Frozen???)

tank size isn't the most important factor...a 90 could be big enough if you have 1) lots of live rock 2) a well-established pod population and 3) nobody else in the tank that eats lots of pods (like a wrasse)

i am no expert on mandarines and do not have one myself but I would wait several months before thinking about getting one. I would also choose it's tankmates wisely to ensure the other fish is not compeating for the same food such as a six line wrasse. Food such as DT live phyto may help boost the copepods and amphipod or other little invertabrate populations fo which the mandarin feeds upon.

I agree with Artful-Dodger on all three points.
I would let the tank and fuge mature for at least 6 months before adding the Mandarin.
fwiw,
Mariner
