Think these are red bugs?

definitely looks like red bugs or black bugs or whatever in between, use interceptor to get rid of them. getting rid of bugs will help with polyp extension almost immediately.

Now the fun of trying to get ahold of some interceptor

I'm going through this situation now. I was able to obtain Interceptor but not without fragging a stag. Apparently it's a felony for a vet to prescribe certain drugs without the animal being present. I ordered 6 pills although I just need one (1/3 of a pill every seven days. I haven't used it yet as it scares the heck out of me as my reef is doing so well these days. Good luck.

It's quick and painless. I've treated 5-6 times now.

MrsReefK: interceptor will affect creatures that molt their exoskeleton such as pods, crabs, and shrimp. (crustaceans)

Turns out my dog gets Sentilel (milbemycin/lufeneron) so we have a bunch of it around. Did some searching and people seem to have good results with this product with no additional harmful effects from the lufeneron. I've been inspecting my sps with my canon the same way as shown in the video and cannot spot a bug on ANY other coral. It's JUST this one. Going to try a dip first with sentinel and see what happens.

Turns out my dog is on Sentinel, which is interceptor + another ingredient (milbemycin + lufeneron). There are a handful of success stories using this combo so yesterday I did a 5 hour dip in a couple gallons of tank water + 30mg crushed tablet (the total tablet weight was 1500mg.

Upon close inspection today I see no bugs on this coral anymore. I also double checked all my sps yesterday with the digital zoom on my canon rebel and nothing else seems to be infested. I'll repeat this dip as necessary a few times if anything pops up.

I have never had a problem obtaining interceptor, it may take going from vet to vet, but usually by the 3rd or 4th one, you will find one that's "chill".
Just bring some print outs of Dustin Dortons dosage instructions and some fact sheets on redbugs. and acropora, show the vet a few pics of your tank, and a close up shot of RBs on a coral.
The one I found was so intrigued by it, he actually started asking me questions about reef tanks as he has thought about setting one up, his clinic didn't carry interceptor, but he gave me permission to use him as the prescribing vet on my 1800-petmeds order.

May take a few tries, with the pictures you provide and documentation, it wont be too hard to find a vet that will prescribe it.

Just my .02
