Thinking about a 55 gallon sump

The easiest way to turn it into a sump would be to get two plexiglass baffles cut at Lowe's to divide the sump into three sections. 1 - equipment (skimmer, heater, etc.), 2 - a small fuge, 3 - return pump.

Thinking about a 55 gallon sump

I have an empty 55 gallon tank that I am considering making into a sump for my 125 gallon reef. Have you done this before or do you have any idea how to use it in the most efficient mannor ? Drawn plans and/or pictures would certainly be of help.:hmm2:

I have a 55 gallon sump on my 125. It is hard to take a picture but you are welcome to take a look at it. 572-1198

If it were a glass tank I would use glass baffles, and aquarium safe silicone. I've heard various complaints about mixing acrylic and glass...

You can use acrylic with glass for sump baffles. Since the baffles will have water on both sides, it'll work. Glass on glass would be better, but glass on acrylic will work for sump baffles.

Bought glass cut from lowes like 7$ each I have a picture on one of the threads here
