I just bought two sexy shrimp for my 46 gallon bow tank. One is pregnant, and I want to raise her babies. I have alot of experience with raising baby peppermints so these shouldn't be a problem since their larval time is much much shorter than peppermints.
So I have a few questions. How long will a pregnant female be pregnant before she releases her eggs starting from the day she becomes pregnant? How long does it take the young to leave their larval stage? I think I read 19 days on a post by lisa p.
Here's the setup where I plan to raise them (same setup for when I was raising peppermints):
-2 gallon
-heater
-15 watt bulb
-will add an air stone once they leave their larval stage since circulation from airstones is too rough for the larvae.
-two baby brine shrimp cultures to be fed twice to three times daily. In the case when live baby brine isnt available, frozen will be used.
-and I will do partial water changes every 1-2 days from the main tank
So does that all sound good?
