hey RC!

ive been working on my tank for the past 2 months and ive decided that i want to make the MAIN theme, an anemone tank. my tank is very young and i understand it is best to wait 6 months or more, so thats the initial plan. right now the tank equipment/specs

90 gallon aqueon reef ready

octopus skimmer 110

29 gallon sump/refugium(chaeto and bubble caulerpa)

lighting is a 2x250w fixture with 15k bulbs. the bulbs actually look like a crisp white with a HINT of yellow and i am wondering if i should switch to 20k's.

any thing i should plan for? or get in good practice with?

the current inhabitants are 2 fals percs and assorted crabs and snails.

thanks guys!

Any ideas of what type of anemones?
Do you plan on keeping anything else in there? (( both invert/coral and fish wise )).
Some anemones are sand dwelling, whereas others are rock dwelling.

What 15,000K bulbs are they? DE or SE? I personally use 20,000K bulbs over my tanks (( each house S. Haddonis )), one of the tanks has Radiums, and the others have XM's (( DE )).

I agree with Todd. You must decide which species of anemone to keep first, then set up your tank accordingly. Of the host anemones, S. haddoni, H. malu, H. crispa must have a sand bed, or sand area about 3+ inches to settle in. S. gigantea, E. quadricolor, and H. magnifica does not need a sand bed. I would avoid Gigantea and Magnifica because these are difficult to keep and difficult to get healthy specimen. Both need high light, which you have and a lot of circulation.
