Thinking of giving a 6025 a shot. ??

Sup guys,
I've had my tank running for about 4 months now and have been using MJ1200's so far. However, I've just about had my fill of them falling off the sides due to the suction cups and things. I've started looking at solutions and I cam across the 6025. The reviews I've read sound good, but this forum is filled with complaints and such. Obviously this forum would give a biased opinion since people only post when they have a problem, but I'm curious if I am safe buying one now or if I should wait till the end of January when you mentioned the molds will be redone?

I have a 36g tank. Would a single 6025 provide enough flow in the tank and keep dead spots to a minimum? Or am I better off using a 6025 as a primary shooting at the top, middle and using a MJ1200 with a Hydor flow on the opposite side to help give more random flow?

My tank is only a softy and lps tank currently and I'll be getting an anemone some time this year.

Would love to hear back with some opinions of the 6025 and my current setup.

I think you will get the best results with a 6025 and a MJ1200. The actual percentage of problems is very low, I have asked my dealers and you also see the feedback here and most customers are not having problems but it is a new product and it will get better in time, I expect that they will be quite trouble free by February.

I think the reason you're perceiving this forum as "filled with complaints" is because this is a rare situation in which the manufacturer and users of a new product can have a open and non-scripted discussion.

I can tell you from experience that there is no comparison between a MJ1200 and a 6025 in terms of flow. My suggestion would be to try one 6025 w/out the maxijet, see how it works, then maybe add another 6025. In my corner tank (about 50 gallons) I replaced both maxijets with 6025s and had much better flow throughout the tank, while kicking up less sand.

I just got two 6025s to replace my 6000 in my 72 bow front (the 6000 is headed to the 180). I put one on each side on the back of my tank so that the streams collide. I can honestly say that the two 6025s seem to provide more flow than the lone 6000.

I have a softy dominated tank and my corals are getting smacked from all sides now. Those little things move some serious water. And lets not forget how awesome the magnet holders are.

Yup, this pumps look so cute it is even worth putting them in one of your paintings

Seriously in my 120g FOWLR tank, since adding one 6025, I did not even have to vacuum the tank bottom anymore since most fish waste get blow apart and into my sump very quickly, and my tank is 30" tall so it saved me a lot of grief.

it's a new product but it is evident that Tunze is doing something to fix the problem in production... not just fixing problems as they come in...

what do you have to lose...? the product has a 2 year warranty, and the company has a great representative in the US...
