Thinking of using Tunzes on my new setup-suggestions

Thinking of using Tunzes on my new setup and am looking for suggestions. It is a 225 peninsula (72x36wx20h). I plan to only have the pumps on the rear wall/overflow which is made of 1/2 glass. Would two 6105s work or should I get two 6205s? Suggestions? Looking to apply enough flow for my SPS and try to keep everything in suspension until filtered out.

Neither option is really ideal, the 6105 flow is about 7ft by 2ft and the 6205 is about 5.5ft by 3ft. The flow at the far end will be too weak with either option in my opinion, the ideal would be a 6205 at each end. It would be feasible to use a wavebox and 2 6105 on the end against the wall but that would be the minimum for good movement of detritus and lower flow corals should be kept at the far end.

I would probably place a 6205 on the far end in a Stream Rock, and one on the overflow end.

What do you think of two 6105s in the lower back and two hung by the corners from the euro bracing work well? Total of four 6105.

If all 4 are on the same side, it won't really make a difference. If 2 will be on the other side, that will work.

Yeah that is what I meant. Two on the lower back and two up front corners hung by the euro bracing. What will I need to mount the 6105 from the eurobracing or how close to the water surface can the be mounted before it pulls air from the water surface? I am just trying to keep power cords to a minimal in the tank. thanks

Would 2 Tunze Stream 6305's work on just one end? If you placed the rock work in such a way to create a gyre it would cool. I know they are pricey...of course you get a huge amount of flow!

I like the 4 6105 idea better, there is more redundancy, if a pump were to fail it is no major loss, you have time to get it repaired. They would need to be at least about 5" from the top and you would use the included magnet holders. I have seen people mount the magnets to the brace and drop the pump by gluing a length of pipe between the magnet and clamp.

If they fit would 2 nano waveboxes work along the sides of the overflow box? I think the space is like 2.5 inches.

That could work, it would be something that has not been tested though. The Nano Wavbox is only 2.1" wide

No, the logic was that 2 6206 is essentially a 6215, a bit weaker actually, so we assumed someone who needed 2 would just get the 6215.

Is there a way I can run two nano wave makers off one of the nano controllers?

Of course, the only drawback is you will have two controllers and only need one.

It sucks but not the end of the world. As if I can use up that unusable space between the overflow and the side of the tank, that would be great. Do you think they would provide a decent movement within the tank? I still planned on using a couple flow pumps in tunze rock or hung from the euro bracing.

Have you had any reports of tank failure due to the use of wave making devices like the Tunze wave maker?

I think they would.

Yes, we have had two known failures but one was a very old tank and the other was a slapped together homemade tank, an overzealous install company in East Europe assembled a tank and the next day filled it with water and added the waveboxes, the seams had not fully cured. Any surge device stresses the seams. You need a well made tank that is not old and worn down and is on a level stand. That tank looks fairly substantial. The main danger is old large tanks that have seen a lot of moves, tanks from off brands with thinner glass and tanks on unlevel stands.

Well Roger, just my luck the overflow box is not centered on the back panel of the tank. I have 1.125" on one side and only 1.5 on the other. So the question is would one benefit this size tank?

I don't think one will work, it may make a wave but it will be tto small to be worth the investment.
