Thirsty's 750 AGE build

Last 2 weeks just been cycling. Finally have diatoms and added some snails and fish

Running the tank sumpless at the moment with about 400 gallons of water

I would highly suggest keeping the tank as dark as possible while cycling. This will help insure the rock will develop a bio film on it to keep algae from taking hold on the rock and keep any algae from growing due to high nutrients from the cycle. Shut off those lights for the first month.

Thank you for the suggestion. So far the snails have taken care of any algae that has grown.

I will definite keep that in mind and reduce lights or turn off if I've got excessive algae growth

Wow! This is an amazing build. What a great room you have as well. I'm looking forward to following along.

Where'd u ride in Japan? Planning a trip for next winter

this has to be the first 750 ive seen go the all in one route haha, hook up a sump to that bad boy!

I bought the sump, need to go pick it up and start plumbing it [emoji4]

very impressive, way to be smart and take everything slow!

Yep, wanted to have less water to change while I get the pod population mature, sponges growing on the live rocks. Figured it's going to take a good 3-6 months before chemistry is stable for adding livestock. Basically cooking rocks

Veeeeery cool. That basement is awesome. Do you have a final vision for flow and filtration? Hydrowizards?

Are you just going to do a 25% water change weekly to take care of water quality? lol

I imagine you will eventually need a pretty large skimmer and calcium reactor?

I used to be more of a sand fan but with SPS obsession comes massive flow obsession comes hatred of sand blowing around.
