This a good RO/DI unit?

I'm looking at buying the 100 GPD Reef/Residential RO/DI unit from buckeyefieldsupply.com Here's a LINK to the unit's description.

It's a 100 GPD unit with the following specifications:

"These four stage units include the most important components of RO/DI systems, and also include the most popular set of accessories for optimum performance and operation. Units come assembled, and include: clear housings, 1-micron poly sediment filter; 0.6-micron, 20,000 gallon carbon block; Filmtec RO membrane, aluminum bracket, pressure gauge, and RO flush valve. Adjustable flow restrictor available upon request at no additional charge. These units also include a filled, refillable DI resin cartridge. Nuclear grade resin assures you the best water quality possible and the refillable cartridge provides an economical option for replacing the resin. In addition, Premium Series RO/DI units include a valve that provides access to RO water before it enters the DI housing."

The Reef/Residential series comes with all those specifications listed above but they also include:

"Buckeye Reef/Residential Systems include all the features of our Premium RO/DI units, with the addition of a 3.2 gallon pressure tank, an automatic shutoff valve, 15 feet of tubing, and a long-reach faucet. These units include the most important components of RO/DI systems and the most popular set of accessories for optimum performance and operation."

Is this a good unit for the money? Are there any similar priced units that perform better?

Buckeye sells good units but DO NOT get the 100 GPD membrane ! Always go for the 75 GPD. The difference is dramatic, 98 % efficiency for the 75 vs 90% for the 100 which is not even an RO membrane at all but is in fact a nanofilter used for pool and spa use. I am sure Russ would try and talk you out of it when you contact them anyway. To stress the difference, for every 2% you increase the membranes efficiency (remember the 90 vs 98%) you DOUBLE the life of the DI filter, so your DI will last probably 4x longer with the 75. Thats a huge difference.

I have dealt with both companies. Russ at buckeyefieldsupply is about a hundred times more knowledgeable than Purelyh20. If you ever need assistance you will be glad you are dealing with him.

Hey Dwarf - whichever system you get, feel free to contact us with questions as you go through the set up and operation of your new system.
