Once in a while, when one of my X-10 switches operates (don't know yet which one), it makes a VERY loud popping sound on my surround sound speakers. Any suggestions on how to eliminate this?
Thanks.
When the fun shuts off it emits a large voltage spike of several thousand volts; it is a early version of a radio called a spark gap generator. Anyway a significant portion of this energy radiates through the air and a high impedance input on your stereo is picking up this energy. I suspect that some input lead on your stereo does not have proper shielding. Unplug leads until you find out which one is causing the problem. Coil up cords as short as possible and physically separate them from any audio cords.
