I don't think there is a stupid way to go in this hobby unless you cut corners and harm live coral or livestock. A 55 is a great size to start with. Thats what I had when i started and i learned a lot instantly (mind you i'm still very new). I ran into problems when my tank leaked, probably because i bought it used and i was forced into a smaller 10 gallon i had laying around the house. That started a whole new battle for me in this hobby. So my personal advice is to go new, at least with the tank. Also, things became a lot easier for me once i realized the benefit of a sump and a refugium. (heres a good place to look http://www.melevsreef.com/what_sump.html). I know your probably swarmed with information right now, but with a proper fuge and sump setup you will save yourself tons of headache and set yourself up for a future of healthy corals and fish

I love my Biocube!!i transfered all my soft corals and zoos too it when i turned my main display into a SPS tank and so now the 29gal biocube is packed and looks good!!

after 2 years I am actually thinking aobut breaking down the 65 and going with multiple bios
i like building the little reefs and keeping 1 possibly 2 fish and inverts in there - buying bits a pieces of coral and watching it grow...

When Your LFS offers you a X$ magic sollution to all your tanks problems and you think the guys in here does not know anything when they askes you to be patient, think again, these guys did it both ways.
Of course you will forget this and trust the LFS, 9 months later you will be setting on the chair infront of your tank givving the same advice to a new commer using your blackberry.

This place has been so helpful to me. Great place to do some research. Combined with a few outside sources, and WHABAM! You (at least, you think
) are ready to take the plunge. Like me. I've done months of reasearch and so far reading the forums here and posting questions has been the most beneficial and wise move I've made.
For my first tank, I'm getting a Biocube 29. It's harder because of its size, but I think it'll be perfect. In both good and bad ways.

i never infered that the people telling me to be patient didnt know anything! i simply asked what the consensious of most rc users thought of the bio cube!!
so i dont really know what your trying to say!
anyway thanks for posting those pictures of the bio cube.. they were pretty cool.
