Well let's see just a few days ago I had noticed my candy cane tissue receding a bit I think it was from being blasted with mp40 but I was able to break the epoxy and move it to a new spot. When I went to move it the base where I couldn't see had several spots of bubble algea. So I took the candy cane out used a blade and scraped all the bubble algea in a separate container moved it down lower and wait and see what happens also the cyano appears to be getting a little worse on the rocks and better on sand I blow it off with the turkey baster often. My birdsnest has crazy polyp extension then the next day it looks like it got stung by the torch so I will have to move it now. Wednesday after water change went to place acans back in the sand bed and looked under them one has two new heads I never noticed and the other has about 5. My meteor shower has now encrusted on the rock. Reverse montipora is encrusting on rock, and I just now fed the fish and noticed a new hammer growth. Like I said so many ups and downs. I love it!!

I've got some downs. All of my fish from the 375 & 470, except for 12 huge Damsels, went in my 300 gallon stock tank. Not a ton of fish like you might think, lots of live rock. I've always had some Ich in my 1100 gallon system, but rarely lost fish due to it. The stress of moving the fish in the 300 caused an Ich outbreak and I had a fish here and there look bad and eventually a loss, then another. I've lost some fish that have been with me for years and I'll be losing some more it looks like.

I've never QT before, but since I'm going FOWLR in the 375g, I think I'll be learning some good QT practices.

Yeah success seems measured in days while failure lasts month with reefing. If my tanks looking great I make sure to enjoy it at the time. If its looking lack luster and I "attempt" to fix the situation; the normal outcome in the short term is I just make it look worse. I'm trying to get better at making slow adjustments and its helping. The smaller the tank, the slower you have to go (just IME).

So you lost the wrasse and your Clarki and skunk? I am very sorry to here that. It is deffinately hard to loose anything and is really devastating no matter how much we dose or change water only to have things take a turn for the worst

No, none of those three, yet. My emperor and orange shoulder tang, a Klein's Butterfly. Truly sad I've never experienced fish loss of this magnitude, to say I feel like I failed them is an understatement. I'm at a low right now as I take all my fishy lives very, very seriously.

Where do you get them? Never heard of that.

And, iirc, your tank needs to be fish free for 78 days for the ich to run its course. then, anything- anything- going into the tank needs to be qt'd for 78 days to be guaranteed ich free.
And, there cannot be another ich infested tank within 10 ft . Apparently the ich can aerosolize
Sorry to hear about your losses. Your fish looked super happy. Closest to natural colors that i think I've ever seen.That emperor was very impressive.

They haven't change much since the '70s, if at all. (Besides the price.) Filter down to 1 micron. Absolutely polishes the water.
Not sure if anyone local carries them. Available through Amazon, but they don't offer it in Prime with the 2 day shipping.
You may check with Chad and/or the other LFS. They may have one laying around they'd let you borrow.
