this is for you pedro!!!...pics of our 55

won't sturring up all the sand cause an amonia spike and another mini cycle that could kill everything?

I would say yes!!!! But then again Pedro did it but he might have not had a deep enough sand bed in the 90 to have caused it. Pedro do you remember how many inches your sand bed was? Thanks

i had at least 110lbs of sand in the 90. with at least 90 making it to the new tank, with 40 from you and 20 new. then added 20 more. so it was normal not just for show.

you saw how dirty it all was, i say go for it. or even vacuum it before hand just to be safe and add some new.

I'm all for getting everything moved over to the new tank I just don't want to do it at the expense of my live stock...my plan to help speed the process up was when I do water changes on the 55 take the water that came out. Of the 55 and mix it into the 92...I think this would speed the process up if I do it every time I do a water change

i only lost 2 sps frags, and saved 1 sps colonie. thats out of 30 + frags and colonies. and i would have saved them if i would have transfered right away. also no fish loss. just trust me there is no way your sand is or will be as dirty as the stuff i mixed up into the 120. and my new water wasnt even the best. and still had a great outcome. haha.

its not just the water, the main thing is the rock. since that will be nice and cycled and cured. that is what will make it possible to just transfer everything.

I don't know what I'm going to do...I just don't know if I want to risk losing anything by rushing into a direct transfer...I'm not doubting that it can be done but with my luck what can go wrong will...I think ill let the new tank cycle for a month or two...maybe toss a dead shrimp in to help build bacteria and expedite the amonia spike...then once trates trites and amonia are zeroed ill move eveything over

well i would, but yet again, nothing wrong with waiting. use a different thread for that tank so that my name isnt in the title. haha. still got a nice gsp rock with your name on it. and a zoa hitchhiker.

Lol....your name waw in the title cuz I read your thread "don't read this unless you're willing to do some work"...plus you said you wanted pics at the meeting...lol...I'm planning on doing a seperate thread for the 92...what's a zoa hitchhiker?

Right on...I guess erik did his tank swap same day as well maybe ill go for it and see if I can find a baby sitter for my more sensative fish for a little while while the tank stabilizes
