This is my clam, but what is this??

cato

New England
Anyone have any idea what this is. I removed it from my crocea clam. It was attached to the shell near the rim/mantle. It's about 1/4 inch and triangular as you can see. It has a shell like structure it's self. Thanks!

I squashed it's guts yesterday (accidently) and it's gone. It had a shell like structure and was rather thin/wafer like thickness. I was curious how strong it's shell was so I pinched it between my fingers and that was it.

probably a small scallop or oyster. I have a couple of squamosas with 4-5 of them on each clam. They don't hurt them at all and I rather like them.
