I was looking at purchasing a Thompsons Tang, and was wondering if anyone has these or info on them?

What size tank do they need as some websites say 50G to 200G?

Are they reef safe?

Are they Hardy?

According to LA they get just under a foot. Since I don't know if they prefer to swim more than others, I would recommend a standard 180, 6x2x2 feet, for a full grown specimen. JMO

Well, Live Aquaria suggests a 220 gallon tank so that is a good guideline. On the other hand Blue Zoo suggests a 75 gallon tank which is not a good guideline.

Could we decide on a good size for this guy? Just wondering because I'd like to put one in a 210.

Not anymore, they've upped it to 200.
