Thanks for the link Ben. Very interesting article. Cephalopods have been the subjects of behavioral research for quite some time. Recently, there has also been research indicating that octopus evidences "personality". In other words, different octopi of the same species and raised under identical laboratory conditions show strikingly different patterns of behavior that differ in consistent and enduring ways. For example some appear "shy" and reclusive, others appear bold, "curious", belligerent etc. This all implies a higher level of cortical involvement in cephalopods (ie., more complex neural organization).
