thoughts on aga megaflow??

I would like to upgrade my tank to a 120 or 125 gallon, and I was thinking of getting an aga megaflow. I like the built in corner overflows. Does anyone have one of these? Good / Bad? I'm sure I would end up scratching an acrylic tank, so thats out, and the thought of drilling a glass one does not appeal to me as I only have a couple of years exper. with a reef. Any input or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!

The deal is I have to paint and put new molding up in the den to get a new tank. I guess that sounds fair!

I have the AGA Mega flowII .It is filtering a 180 fresh H2o tank.It came broken and cracked 3 times from a mail order place.They were good at returning it but was very frustrated at the packing.I purchased it because I was to lazy to build one myself.
The plastic thickness is just a little to thin for my liking.The design is poor.I have had a few floods due to the overflow section.When the filter pad gets to dirty the water rolls off the front of the pad and spills out of the system,I have fixed this by adding acrylic to the sides of the sump section.
For the cost I would think a little more R&D would have gone into the system.If I had to do it all over I would buld a nice sump with a glass tank.

Yeah, I'm thinking of trying to build a sump myself, I have an old 40 gallon tank I may use, or I may try to go with acrylic and try to have a separate refugium off the side of it.

Hay Olemos,Yes Im still lurking.This never gets out of your blood.Just got so frustrated had to go back to basics,I have a 180 gal with two tiger oscars and a amazon redtailed cat that I will donate to you in a couple of months when he is about 6 ft.Take care Ed

I have the aga III and had the same problem efeely did with forgettting to change the filter pad before the flood came. I learned after the 2nd flood and don't even use the insert anymore. If I had to do it again I'd go the route of making my own sump and save a ton of money. I agree with all of the above posters... pricey, a little thin, easy to flood your room if you're not meticulous on changing the filter pad.
