Second option is better, first is too tall. Remember that you are going to put corals on top of the rocks so in a year or 2 they will be several inches taller.

I have quite a bit of rock left. Do you mean pieces to span between the two islands?

I wouldn't mess with it. All you'll do is start to make it look crowded again. Coral growing will create some natural overhangs in the middle.

that looks alot nicer, depending on the coral you get once it grows in you won't really be looking at the rock. The coarl also ends up shaping your aquascape.

I personally like the first scape the best, but it's your tank. Do what you like. I bet you're going to change things 10x before you're happy with it.

The second one looks much nicer. It will leave you with far more room for corals.
