Thoughts on Blueline Pumps

I am going to be running the 1270 gph Blueline for my CL through an Oceans Motions 4-way. Heard the Blueline is basically the same as the Pan World.

Yes the panworld and blueline are basically the same. I run a Panworld100pxx(1270gph) on my return and one for my closed loop. On th return I have to throttle it down a little. They handkle head great. I had switched from a mag and I now get tremendous flow from the panworld.

I run a Panworld/Blueline 200 on my basement sump return line. Very happy with it. I would recommend it.

I've been running a Blueline 30 for two months now, very happy with it.

Quieter than the little giant that I was running before, happy with it.

I am also interested in feedback since I am considering a 100px-x
on my new 120 for the return. According to the head calculator here on RC(and info from the manufacturers) the Iwaki 40rlxt can handle more head than the 100px-x. Curious as to why you have to throttle yours back mattls as the flow with head calculated should not be over the max for the overflows on your tank. I also ran a 40px for a few months and liked it very much. It was just a little small for the application I was using it for.

i'm also running the blueline 30 on my CL on my tank in my bedroom.. it's great, i was worried about noise but it is very quite, just the low hum from the motor....

I have a 2-yer old blueline 1100NS, as well as a small panworld HD40PX.

The blueline 1100NS will be replaced soon due to a loud screech from the fan that happens about once a week in the middle of the night until I turn the pump off for a day or so. Fortunately, the pan world also acts as a retun through my chiller, so shutting the blueline down doesn't cause much of a problem. Just reduced flow, which I'm not a big fan of. :)

The replacement will be a pan world HD pump. Probably a 100PX.

Fishdoc11-The overflows on the RR AGA stock size tank do not handle the 600GPH they claim. Thats BS first. Also depending on how you plumb to the sump also can slow up over flow GPH also. If I open it up all the way I would overflow the tank. Thats with about 5ft of head . But I have some elbows on my drain lines since my sump is not under neath my tank. So that hinders the GPH of the overflows.

I have been running 3 Pan World 150-PS' for quite a while, one for over a year with no problems. They are a VERY quiet and efficient pump. I love them!

I've got some good info on these.

I was doing the eductor thing for a while, so I got the High pressure panworld (dont feel like lookin it up right now) basicaly it was around 1100 gph at 28 feet of max head or something. My tank is in my living room, and that pump IMO was too loud.

I also didn't like the look of the eductors in the tank... so... I got the lower pressure panworld that pushed around 1100 gph at around 13 feet of max head. Much much more quiet. Still makes a tiny bit of noise so I'm just going to bite the bullet and get a poisedon, and get a chiller, as I've heard these heat up the water. A Silent tank is very important for me.

Thanks for the response:)
Thats odd, the one overflow on my AGA 90 easily handles > 600gph. The 90's must cut it back quite a bit.
thanks, Chris

FWIW a chiller will be quite a bit louder than an external pump.

Fishdoc11- I have a 120 and I have a couple of 90's on both my returns which does slow up the flow of the overflows I think quite a bit. The slots on the AGA mega flows overflows are also not that wide and seem to get clogged and hinder flow also. I have to scrape my slots of coraline alot and on the megaflows I can;t get to the middle or lower slots to clean (my rock work covers this).
