Super old thread I know. I just wanna hear what you guys think about the a150 and which one you like the most, ocean or sky blue.

I had the Sky View and I sold it I like the Ocean Blue better more blue but not over powering. I did buy a 160 we model I like it because I can dim it.

For what ?

Sky blue is very white. Like a 10K MH.

Ocean blue is more blue and the best of the A150s if you're going to use it alone. Like a 15K MH

Deep ocean blue is only going to give you fluorescence, like an actinic.

I disagree Deep Ocean Blue is the Best by Far.

I Highly Highly Recommend it.

I don't like it when it's to much blue because you lose all the red color so I'm leaning towards the 10k but I love the pop of the bluer 15k. I think the DOB way to blue and you lose all the other colors that isn't fluorescent like red orange blue.

Any growth differens between the 10k and the 15k?

And I don't have the money for a a160w so that just isn't an option.

I think post #577 gives a good representation of the two colors. What kinda of corals do you have or want to have?

Red and Orange POP best under Blue Light.

You know the A160 is only 15.00 more than the A150 right?

And you can adjust it to get any color you want.

And it is more powerful.

Here in Sweden the a150w are 115 dollars (1000 Swedish kr) cheaper than the a160we. And the tank is sett up as a school project so it's the school who is in charge over the budget.

I have some shrooms a Kenya tree (removing it soon) a Monti cap, seriatopora caliendrum and stylophora milka.

I'm gonna suplement with two juwel t5 (the ones that are on right now) if the kessil isn't enough.

After some research I'm leaning towards the 15k an different that's to blue I'll just use some 10k t5 to balance it out.

All of those will grow very well with the A150 Ocean Blue depending on the distance from the light to the corals. You haven't said how deep the tank is.

If you already have the T5s I'd run them. The combination should give you more balanced growth and color, particularly with the hard corals.

It is 22 inches deep (the sps are high up in the tank). Yeah i think i am going to use the t5 also. I went with the ocean blue and just balance the color out woth the t5. Thank you for all your healp!

Yes,

It should be perfect.

But you might have trouble finding one as they were Replaced by the A160 which is more Powerful and you can Adjust the Spectrum like you can with the A350 and A360 and it works with the optional Controller too.

New or used? I am always a fan of a bargain but I did sell my 150 and bought a 160 but then again it is on a 9 gallon tank at the lowest setting. These lights are very powerful and perfect for cubes. So either will work great I guess it depends on price .
