Thoughts on SPS frag tank?

Recently i have been thinking about setting up an SPS prop tank.

My 120 SPS is going well and would like more room to grow in a controlled fashion.

First off:

Should i connect the frag tank to the main tank

OR

Run a dedicated system

Lighting:
I have decided on PFO 400 Watt HQI and Radium 20KK

Reflector is still in the works, any thoughts on the Spyder Reflector, LumenArc or LumenMax?

Tank
I have a 29 gallon tank and stand, i could use but, the tank is narrow and i might be loosing to much light, and available grow out space

Other thoughts are 40 Br. and making a homemade stand

or an acrylic shallow 8 in tall or so tank.

Flow
Ecomonical Quite one 4000 pump (45 watts IIRC)
Seio 1100 or 1500
Super Luft Air Pump and PCV elbows

Substrate
None

Calcium Alkalinity Supplement
Reeffanatic float
Kalkwasser top off

Any suggestions welcome
Thanks

The 40 br is a good size. The bottom isn't tempered so it can be drilled and it's fairly easy to fit a corner overflow....the main drawback is light coverage with one halide. Here is mine:

The two things I learned from this frag tank. Connect it to the main system if you can and use the same lighting you are using in your main tank. IMO you have way too much light in the 400 watter.

Actually now i am thinking about doing a rubbermaid 300 gallon tub. Stand alone, no sump or fuge.

But would include a beckett or dual needlewheel skimmer

Still using the 400 Radium over the larger surface area of the tub

Add 50 -100 pounds of LR in the bottom of the tub for bio filtration
