thoughts on this for refugium substrate

Still trying to figure out what substrate to use in my refugium, so far just have some live rock and small ball of cheato. Thoughts on this stuff?

IMO, I would leave your fuge BB with the live rock and cheato.

I just use sand and seed it, works well.

is bare bottom ok for all the critters that are usually in refugiums?

I like bare bottom better you don't get a build of gunk in the bed and if you want you can do little clean on it without taking out all of the good stuff. Mine began to stink after a while with miracle mud

I'd go with BB too. I had sand in my first fuge, and it collected so much detrius....

For growing pods and macro all you need is LR, chaeto, and water
