Three New Multibars

Well I got my three multibars yesterday. Hoping to make a trio. They're in 3/4 of a 20L tank now (it's sectioned) and seem very fat and healthy, if a little shy. They've started eating brine shrimp with spirulina, so I've got my hopes up. I'll put them into the display when I have them on pellet food. What I haven't been able to figure out in my research of these guys is how to or if you can sex them. I assume you can because I found a few sites stating that they had a female or a male, but I can't figure out how. Any suggestions? For now, here's some pics! Let me know what you think!

Nice, but get rid of the windex! Use white vinegar in a spray bottle to clean the front of your tanks. Will do just as well, without risking ammonia into the tank.

Good luck with your angels! They're one of my favorite species of pygmy angels.

Thanks all, and it's not windex, just plain old ammonia spray (actually is there a difference now that I think abot it?). I spray it out of the room on a paper towel first. Saw it in the pic and knew someone would comment on it! lol

Definitely will keep you all updated with pics. Still trying to get them to eat a little more for now though.

Anyone with the sexing? Can they not be sexed or does anyone know?

Check out this site it may help you out. http://www.rcthawaii.com/angel/6.htm

P.S. Great fish BTW and I plan to get a pair myself after I finish with the planning stage of my tank.

Cool link, and thanks!

how "reef safe" are they?

Largest most dominant = male, smaller fish in the harem = female.

Ah, there we go, thanks a lot!!

MTS = multiple tank syndrome :)

Oh, haha, yep, I actually set my system up to allow this. Super huge stand and very easy to just drill another hole in the stand for overflow and add a small pipe extension/ ball valve for return.
