This is what happened to my frogspawn, and it made a full recovery after about 6 months of proper acclimation.

This is how it looks now, bottom left corner.

NOTE: THIS IS ONLY ME SHARING MY EXPERIENCE (TO THOSE WHO ARE OFFENDED BY MY POSTS!!!)

You need to start your own thread on this.

He was posting his result with proper acclimation and how his coral rebounded. Why the need for another thread? Besides who made you the forum police?

People cross post and hijack threads all the time around here, nothing new and its a great way to keep an old thread alive, since most people tend to have somewhat of the same issues. It kind of lessens the constant questions we all know the answer to.

Really, I made a suggestion and you don't like it. I'm sorry for that. It was my opinion and apparently you have yours. Personally I think hijacking of threads isn't proper etiquette as do many others. Sure some don't care but does that make it right? If there are new threads started on similar subjects it gets more people involved on a subject, kind of puts new life into it. Then when someone does a search for similar subject there are many threads on that certain topic, to me more beneficial to those looking for that information.

But to each his own. :hmm2:

Brilliant!!! Did you figure out how to drop the intensity or just reduce the on time?

Thank you! FYI I'm a girl.... :)

This particular person has had negative and/or contradictory comments on many of my posts recently. It's infuriating! I'm simply giving my own personal experiences.

You have been criticizing many of my! posts recently. It's infuriating! I'm simply giving my own personal experiences. Would be great if you would lay off. Thanks, Lisa

I originally had introduced 95 starting at two hours and up to 6 hours within a month., and this was the results. I then took it back down to an hour and a half and increased by 30 minutes every 3 to 4 weeks, and am now up to 8 hours a day. They're all doing very well, I just decrease the time but not the intensity.

Lisa, I'm sorry I didn't realize that I was criticizing anything. Would you please point them out to me so I can at least be aware of what I'm being accused of doing?

I think I just found what you are referring to. I said I didn't agree with you and what you were doing didn't make any sense to me. I asked for someone to please explain it to me. For that you say I'm criticizing you? I disagreed with you and asked for some explanation to the reason behind what you did. That's all, nothing more nothing less.

Dhuhklmann - First you contradicted my advice on someone asking for reef safe fishes, and now you told me I shouldn't be posting in this thread as well. That's just in the past two weeks. I was merely trying to help someone out because I had the exact same experience. The before and after pictures of my coral were to show how I bleached it after acclimating it to new lighting too quickly, and how it looked after it recovered. So in my opinion it didn't belong in another thread. Maybe you don't mean to, but you come off a little harsh. We're in this hobby because we love it. I enjoy my fish tank more than anything else, and in my crazy hectic life it's the only thing that really gives me any enjoyment. I love being on ReefCentral because there's a lot of people who have the same interests as I do, where most of my friends don't. It's very discouraging when people argue with you or make you feel like you posted something the wrong way, or offended someone in some way. This is a forum, it's a place for people to share their thoughts, experiences, and opinions. It's also a place for those who have expertise in certain areas to share that. I try not to advise anyone on anything that I have not had specific experience in. I have been reefing since 1986, & I would like to think I have a little bit of knowledge, albeit much less than a lot of people on this forum. People who have more knowledge of something should presented in a kind way, and not make some of us feel like we are stupid for saying something.

I accept your apology and thank you for it. I will forget about it from this point forward. I hope you are well, and enjoying reefing as much as I do! I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day!

Lisa, I don't mean to come across as harsh and I understand why you would think that. It's because I'm direct and to the point. Believe me that I'm very passionate about this hobby and only want to help others to be successful. Believe me that I in no way shape or form was saying that you were stupid or trying to make you feel that way.

I've been laid off of work on medical leave since June 18th when I had lumbar decompression and fusion of L4-L5. The decompression was from L2-S1, two weeks after the surgery I got a severe blood infection and was rushed into emergency surgery to clean out the surgical site and then spent 4 days in the hospital with that. I was on IV antibiotics for 6 more weeks twice a day. My employer gave my job to the guy I trained to relieve me while I was on medical leave. I've been available and released to work since Sept 8th. I've yet to be called back for a new position that is supposed to be my new job. I just found out today that I could have been getting unemployment since Sept 8th. However the state won't do back pay so I'm ... :D

Being on here gives me release to do something all day. This is why my post count is so high. I help out all day long every day even on the weekends. I really need to get a life.

Sorry I unloaded on you but I had to get it off of my chest and vent. Thank you for accepting my apology.

David
