I'm not saying that you don't know what you are doing, I'm sure you are quite capable, but you have to understand that we get a lot of people on this site who treat this simply as a hobby, not considering the God-created creature aspect but only the "it's purdy" aspect, whether by ignorance (which I think we all had when we started) or by choice.
If you look, questioning comments did not begin until after you made that comment... up until then the couple of comments were quite complimentary... all I'm saying is that a lot can be lost in the translation of a post on here... I think it is important to think about how others might interpret what we post... we have all said something that came across other than we meant it, but we have to try to understand that and learn from it...
The treatment of the animals is really important to us on here, and in the world of "I want a Nemo for my fishbowl," there seems to be a lack of understanding/knowledge. So don't be surprised if you get questioned when making comments such as above. Just my $.02

Listen man, I worked for the US EPA for 6 years, dont preach to me about animal treatment...what I said was not wrong, when a starfish dies, it basicly melts and falls apart...they eventually like all things die, and when they do, they get replaced...I never EVER said I didnt care or ....ahhhnevermind, i'm wasting my time here.

I'm sure that is what happens to them when they die, just as it does most creatures. But you have to understand that the way you said it seemed cynical at best... we don't know you, we have no way to know whether you care or not...
All I was saying was be careful on your wording when you post, on how it might come across to the thousands of strangers who read it...
And I think YOU should try reading the whole statement... no where in my post did I say anything about you not caring... I was simply stating why you were getting the flack... we would love to have you on here to share your experiences/tanks, but if you are not willing to ever be questioned about anything or willing to understand where others are coming from, then I agree, you are wasting your time...

wow, i'm going to crack a beer and chill for a while, lets all do it together.....ahhhh.....much better right? cool. Now everyone has different experiences around here but nobody looks down on anyone else. We just try to educate eachother, and help noobs. I am five years in and try to help the people just starting, and the members that have been doing this for a decade or longer help me all the time, because relative to them, I'm a noob. There are members here with tons of experience, tons of education, phds even, so its best not to go after people you don't know. Personally, i love to pick the brains of the more experienced and educated people around here, and they are always willing to oblige. You obviously have a lot of experience so IMO you should stick around, but just know that any questions coming your way are at least coming from the right place, with the right intent. Nobody is questioning your intelligence and certainly no one is personally attacking you. stick around and have some fun.

I like your style sir, but if you read this post by post, you'll see I started this with the best, fun intentions, and eventually ended up in a sea of dip#$%& comments, I build tanks and teach people this hobby for a living....and I am very good at LISTENING as well as sharing what I know in a non-condesending way. I also dont tolerate BS.

i read it, and i get it. Everyone just got off on the wrong foot. Typically these threads are not as contentious as this one, unless you are talking about algae turf scrubbers vs. protein skimmers, then everyone comes out of the woodwork! I'm not a big fan when people start attacking spelling or grammar but it does happen from time to time. Certainly any theory is up for debate though, and that can be fun and informative. Obviously you can benefit from this site, and this site can benefit from you so I say give it another chance. Post some of your builds in DIY forums so we can all see and steal your ideas lol. but seriously everyone is always looking for cool build ideas and if you do that for a living, share your insight, and take some from others, I bet the next thread won't get this nasty.
