Tigahboy's 15S [LPS-only]

Tigahboy,

Love the tank, one of the best small tanks I've ever seen. Sorry to hear about the seahorse losses. I can understand trading those away, I can only handle feeding my tank once every two days, multiple times a day is just not possible :)

I like some of your chalice corals. I need to read up on those to see their requirements. Do you have any tips on water flow, feeding and lighting for them? I have 175W SE MH 10,000K on my tank, if that is adequate I might try one.

Thanks! chalice aren't super light needy and don't need a whole lot of flow either. pretty easy to keep corals. you should be fine w/ your lighting.

Actually getting a few more chalice pieces from RandyO w/in a couple days. finally adding some new stuff to this tank. =)

Nice tank, emerald crabs, sally light foot, and blue leggit hermits really helped with my algae problems in the past. Then i pulled them out when they finished the job. Didn't have much luck with snails.

I had 2 fem Emerald crabs, too. They did such a great job cleaning up the algae. I hand fed them both daily (I have a feeding fetish ;) Then some of my corals started looking poorly for no apparant reason. Some acans stopped putting out their feeding tents - very alarming! 1 night I held a vigil - about an hour after I fed everything, & actually got my acan to take a sm bit, the emerald came out from her dining room, and I swear I heard vile, evil laughter as she grabbed hearty fistfuls of acan flesh & tore the polyp right down the middle!!! She then happily consumed all the soft tatters. Please, if you love your LPS, don't risk it!!!

I have been following this thread and your other "2.5g surge". You do such a nice job on your systems.

Keep it up

Blue legged hermit crabs are evil. I had one that was tearing at my galaxea in broad daylight. It has been vanquished to the fuge.

thanks for the compliments and suggestions, guys!

just took a quick photo...
