tiger cowrie snail

I just cought my tiger cowrie snail eating my star polyps. He has whipped out over 75% of them. LOL I am sure glad they grow fast.

I really do not want to get rid of it. It came on some LR as a hitchhiker. Right now I have it in a 2 gal with a heater and a couple chunks of LR. (along with my hermit crabs while I make up my mind to keep them or not) Will he be Ok for a mounth or 2 in there while my sea horse tanks cycles?

He'll need something to eat. Try wilted leaf lettuce weighted to the bottom of the tank. Tiger cowries aren't usually hitchhikers, since they're normally about 3 inches in length. Are you sure it's not a different species?

Nope this guy is about 3" I bought LR from a guy that was taking down his tank. I bought it unseen and when I was pulling it out of the bucket, this guy was on the bottom.

No problems feeding him. Would seaweed work. I have a whole pack that no one else eats.

I'd try it. They're omnivorous, but they'll eat a lot of different things if they get hungry enough.
