Tiger Tail Cucumber - MIA

Crud. It just dawned on me... I moved all of my live stock and rock out of the holding bins on Saturday evening... I haven't seen my Tiger Tail Cucumber in a couple days before I transferred everything out of the bins, I know I didn't see him when I transferred everything into the new tank. I just looked through my DT, Fuge, and sump... I looked through the common pieces of LR he would crawl in/through and I don't see him. He wasn't small, and there is no way I left him in the bin...

How much damage am I looking at if he's stuck in a hole somewhere and dies before I find him?

From what I understand, it'll be very hard to them to get stuck. They can squeeze into amazingly small spaces by softening their bodies to an extremely soft form. They harden them up to prevent predation and to hold themselves into holes to prevent predation. I'd give it a few days, or heck who knows how long. I haven't seen mine in a week in a small fuge LOL.

A few days ago I noticed that I hadn't seen any in my tank in several weeks. I've seen them non-stop ever since. They get very small and tend to hide more when they reproduce by fission.

Anyone have one die in their tank? I fear he's jammed underneath the largest piece of rock I have with no way out.. I'll pull it out after work today and see. I have a 40g water mixed up and ready to go if he's flat or mush...

If I were you I'd just leave it. They are impressive escape artists and my money is on it just hiding for whatever reason. I've went 6 months in between seeing the tiger tail cuc in my 180 and just when I'd forgotten it was even there it reappears from whatever hole it was in.

I would totally agree if he just disappeared, what ever he can get himself into, he can certainly get out... I had him and all my rock in a 150G bin and just re-stacked it (rock) in my new DT... (tank transfer) I'm worried I cornered/pinned him in a hole.

Once i lost a tiger tail in an 18 gallon cube. ended up being in my plumbing (since the tank was drilled).
