Tigertail Sea Cucumbers,Reproduce in tank?

I put one in my reef about a year ago. A week ago i found it lifeless and floating on the surface. I scooped it out and was kind of down about being gone. Today while cleaning the glass i noticed one the same size crawling along the sand. How do they reproduce?
